Approximately one hour from downtown Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula... discover the BEST sandy beach on Puget Sound! Enjoy an unobstructed, breathtaking view of Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and Mount Rainier from atop a south facing bluff. Plan your day as the morning tide rolls gently in and out of the bay. Smell the salt air and indulge in the sounds of a beach awakening. Watch as bald eagles soar in clear sight, and herons search for their perfect morning catch. Otters play, dogs fetch and people stroll. Welcome the fresh evening air, as the lights of the Seattle skyline decorate the night sky. This rural residential area, is just south of Kingston on the part of Puget Sound called Port Madison. It was originally established (in 1916) as a summer community for Seattleites. The Indianola dock, built when the Mosquito Fleet boats supplied the majority of transportation on Puget Sound, was easy access for weekending families.
