Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for the foreseeable future after the Argentina international suffered an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury, manager Ruben Amorim said on Thursday.

Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez is set for another long spell out of action after Manchester United confirmed he has a cruciate ligament injury.

Amorim could mix things up further by moving the Dutchman to the central centre-back position and Maguire to the left. Maguire has experience playing as the left-sided defender in a three for England and Hull City but he is more of a ball-carrying centre-back than a passer.
