PHOENIX - Phoenix Fire extinguished a brush fire on South Mountain that burned for several hours on Saturday, Jan. 25. The northeast face of the mountain was seen on fire, which could be seen lighting the mountainside orange in the night sky.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Fire crews responded to a fast-moving brush fire on South Mountain in Phoenix Saturday night. The fire was burning near Baseline Road and 40th Street around 8 p.m. Firefighters say the blaze grew to one acre before they could contain the flames.

PHOENIX — Crews contained a brush fire on the north side of South Mountain Saturday night. Officials say the fast-moving fire burned approximately one acre. Crews were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading. Officials say the fire never threatened any homes or structures.
