Coaches employed with other teams and not in the playoffs are free to interview with prospective teams virtually three days after their final game of the regular season, so as of Wednesday the Jets are free to conduct a virtual interview with Rizzi.

There are 12 candidates and counting that have been reported to have already interviewed or have interviews on the books with the Jets as of Monday afternoon. Mike Vrabel, who most recently was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018-23, had reportedly a positive interview in New York.
