BOSTON -- Martin Necas and Jack Drury each made his debut for the Colorado Avalanche in a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday. The forwards were acquired Friday in a three-team trade also involving the Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks that sent Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall to the Hurricanes.
Morgan Geekie's pair of third-period goals helped the Boston Bruins rally for a 3-1 win over the visiting Colorado Avalanche on Saturday afternoon.
Geekie did not stop there, though, as he also scored the Bruins' game-winning at the 5:44 mark of the third period. Pastrnak once again set up Geekie with an outstanding feed, and Geekie snapped it home for his second of the game.
The Bruins have fought the injury bug while battling to remain among the NHL’s playoff contenders with under three months remaining in the regular season.
The current playoff odds don't favor the Bruins. But even with Boston looking at an arduous road, they're embracing the challenge.
