Reese Witherspoon recently took to her Instagram story (via People) to set the record straight that Kate Winslet is not the famous actor who no longer speaks to her. The “Walk the Line” Oscar winner recently went viral after telling People magazine that she lost an industry friend because of an awards speech gone wrong.

After Witherspoon alluded to a falling-out with “a very serious, proper actress,” sleuths deduced that the injured party was Winslet. But on Instagram, Witherspoon said that’s not the case.

"Hey guys .. just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity," the actress said in a social media post.
